So, thankfully, Carrie Bradshaw's outfits in the SATC movie did not disappoint!! Here is a look I created for her. NOTE, TEAMSUGAR FIXED SO YOU SHOULD ALL BE ABLE TO SEE THE WHOLE LOOK; PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE STILL EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS... Back to Carrie, in this look she's got pearls -- only better and chicer, a very Carrie, Thakoon blouse and skirt that is somewhat ahead of its time, a boho wooden cuff, bright red Chanel lipstick to go with her Marni shiny red peep-toe pumps. She gets to surprise us with her choice of shoes...a) what can be more spring/summer-like?? b) red is the new black! c) shiny and patent anything matches pretty much any outfit! and, of course, d) Look at that Lieber clutch!!.....High Fashion that is anything but, NEVER boring :-) Enjoy! "Ordinary People" won Oscars for best actor, Timothy Hutton, and I believe also director, Robert Redford. The movie came out in the 80s and is a classic, though at times tough to watch. I highly recommend checking it out. This look is an homage to the film! Based on the rigid posh mom character, Beth, played so, so well by Mary Tyler Moore (she may have won an Oscar for her portrayal in the film too). The cameo brooch below would be worn like her, just immediately below the neck part of the blouse. The movie starred also Donald Sutherland, Judd Hirsch (amazing portrayal of a psychiatrist), Dina Manoff (sp?), elizabeth who was also in the 80s film, "She's Having a Baby", and others. This list was fun to create. Diane Lane's character in the awesome movie co-starring Richard Gere, "Unfaithful"! The efffortlessly chic, strikingly beautiful, great-figure Soccer Mom of Upstate New York-Look! In an homage to her character, included are her signature: 1) form-fitting dress to feature her gorgeous curves, with a jacket somewhat similar to what she wore with the dress 2) conservative, but expensive accessories, including a ring that says she's MARRIED. lol. 3) Black Pumps, and panties like the ones she haid laid out a night before a tryst with her lover that Richard Gere's character had noticed in their bathroom. (Missing is the bra, because she decided to ditch it at last minute ;-)) 4) And, light make-up, because she had a make-up look throughout that was very natural-looking. Enjoy!, VSug
